The Waterhouse at South Bund
This design boutique hotel is located in a converted army barrack from the 1930s. The Waterhouse at South Bund lies adjacent to the Huangpu River which can be viewed from some of the rooms. The property has preserved its original rustic look of exposed brick walls, steel beams and stone floors, featuring a fusion of old and new Shanghai.
The Waterhouse offers 19 unique guest rooms, some with private terraces and some with spectacular views of the river and city skyline. The rooms offer all necessary amenities including luxury toiletries and an illy espresso machine as an added bonus.
The Waterhouse is located in the vicinity of the 2010 World Expo and adjacent to Shanghai’s hotspot the Cool Docks. Landmarks and popular tourist destinations are easily accessible.
Hungry? Table No. 1, one of Shanghai’s best restaurants, is located on the ground floor of the hotel. There are also two bars with one of them being located on the roof top and offering amazing views over the city.
What makes this hotel simply cool? The cool blending of old and new Shanghai
